What A Week
This week has been the very definition of what it means to be a college student. I think I've spent about 10 hours a day in the library. Yuck!
For my Visual Media class I had to design three logos, stationary, and a business card for a company of my choice. I did mine for Bobby's (my brother in law) mother Marcia. She's an artist and paints amazing and very unique pictures of LDS temples. Bobby set up a website for her called paintingsofldstemples.com but that name was too long to use so I just put Marcia Johnson Paintings. It won't let me upload that to wear it'll look nice sooo use you imaginations. lol
I also had a Spanish oral interview Thursday and a test on Friday. Spanish continues to be the hardest class I have ever taken but somehow I finally feel like I'm getting at least half of what Hermana Hamblin says in class. Its funny in high school I couldn't have cared less about spanish but now (and Im pretty sure it's because I have a teacher who cares) I love it!
For Mass Media I had to create new blog (see previous entry and go check it out) which wasn't that hard but it took a lot of time because I wanted to get it right. Im actually pretty excited about it and will for sure continue it just because it'll be fun to finally get all the funny/sad/maddening stories that I had stored in my brain out there in the open.
This weekend Ashton, Janeen and Heather all left us to go various places outside of Rexburg but Friday night we had a lot of fun. Kristin, Kendra, Kevin and I went Bowling at The Rex! It was great. Kevin hasn't hung out with us much because he had a new girl so it was awesome to hang out with him! (pictures are coming soon)
AND Stephanie got her MISSOIN CALL!!! It's soo exciting!! Im soo happy for her! She's going to be an amazing missionary! I'm so proud of her and all the things she has done to get this far. She is the best friend a girl could ask for and I have been sooo sooo blessed to have her in my life.

Laser Tag
So last night Ashton, Karl, Kristin, Kendra, Sterling, Jeremy, Matthew and I went to Idaho Falls and played Laser Tag! It was way fun! Its at this place called Blast Off. They have a play place for the little kids, arcade, black light mini golf, laser tag and then phaser tag (pretty much its paint ball in the laser tag arena and w/ black lights) Well we played two ten minute games. The first one we lost b/c the otehr team were babies and took two of our players but we won the second game! It was awesome! And guess who got the highest score for the second game! Me thats who!! Whoot!!!
Well after we played we went out to Chill's and my dear brother bought me dinner. I love him! I don't know what I'm going to do when he leaves for his mission. Its been away fun having him here and its going to be hard to go back to not having him close all the time. Anyway It was a great night! Here are some pictures...

Looking Through the Storms and Finding His Light.
I feel like I dont write on here very much...probably because I write in my other online journal almost everyday. And also probably because the average everyday life of a college student isnt all that exciting. But I want everyone to know how blessed I am. I mean I have soo many things in my life to be happy about and I think I've forgotten them as of late. But I have realized in the past week or so that I really have NO reason to complain I mean I have my....1. Wonderful Family
2. Amazing Friends
3. I am able to attend the Lord's University & gain an education
and last but definatly not least...
4. I have the gospel in my life

What more could a girl ask for at this point in her life? I'm not saying that my life is perfect, I definatly have my trials but I was doing a project this week for my Visual Medai class (the picture at the top obviously. Its not the best piece of art ever but I kinda like it. haha.) and being at this wonderful school I was allowed to have a gospel focus. And while I was looking for the right words to put on it, D&C 121:7-10 (which was actually shown to me by Ashton at the beginning of last semester actually) came to my mind.
"My son (or daughter), peace be unto thy soul; thine adversity and thine afflictions shalle be but a small moment; and then if thou endure it well, God shall exalt thee on high; thou shalt triumph over all thy foes. Thy friends do stand by thee, and they shall hail thee again with warm hearts and friendly hands. Thou art not yet as Job; they friends do not contend against thee, neither charge thee with transgression, as they did Job."
I believe with all my heart this scripture. We are not yet as Job. We have so maby things to be thankful for in this life if we just take the time to look.
Another thought...
President Clarke gave a devotional (this semester I think...though Im not quite sure) where he talked about our trials and told the parable of the mirrors...
Another thought...
President Clarke gave a devotional (this semester I think...though Im not quite sure) where he talked about our trials and told the parable of the mirrors...
"The King of the land sent one of his sons and one of his daughters off on an important journey to establish peace in the land. The brother and sister set off and followed the King's directions carefully. Then, unexpectedly, there arose a great storm. The wind blew, the rain was heavy, and swirling debris obscured the path. The son and daughter took refuge in a small hut. In the hut were two mirrors beckoning for their attention and focus. Each mirror showed them a vision of the future with them in the picture.
The first mirror was full of darkness and swirling fog. The son and daughter saw themselves in despair, lost, hungry and cold, unable to complete the journey. The mirror seemed to whisper,
'Turn back; it's hopeless; give up.'
The second mirror was bright and clear. They could see the storm, but they saw themselves making their way through it, completing their journey and establishing peace. The second mirror seemed to whisper,
'Carry on; walk in the light; the way is sure; you can do it.'
They chose the second mirror, left the hut with confidence, fought their way through the storm, and completed their journey. "
He went on to say...
"I know from my own experience that if you choose the mirror of Christ you authorize the Holy Ghost to minister to you. He will 'show unto you all things what ye should do.' Your feelings of self-worth and confidence in the Lord will grow, and peace of mind will return. You will go forward, acting in faith to face the storm and work through it. This is the path of the peacemaker."
I second President Clarke (side note: President Clarke is another one of those blessings that I have forgotten about. He is one of the most amazing men I have ever met & I know that he leads this school with the Lord by his side.) completly. I have learned that throughout our lives there are only two things we can do to survive and reach out goal of the Celestial Kingdom.
1. Count our Blessings & be greatful for all the good things we have in our lives.
And
2. Choose the "mirror" of Christ & let our Savior guide us through the storms we face.
